👶👣🤰Thokozani Royals! 👑

Today, I wanted to share a personal story with you all about a very special moment in my life. It was a Sunday that I'll never forget, and it all started with a trip to the pharmacy.

Now, before I dive into the details, let me give you a little background. My husband and I have been married for eight wonderful years, and in our journey together, we've always embraced the idea of family planning. We both have a passion for advocating for comprehensive healthcare, and it's something we even discussed during our primary healthcare practical hours. But at that time, we were enjoying life as a happy couple without any plans for a third wheel! 😁

You see, right after we got married, with all the traditional customs like lobola and mahlabisa done in just one month, everyone assumed I was already expecting. But truth be told, we still had some big dreams and ambitions that we wanted to achieve before welcoming a little one into our lives. So, we decided to focus on our careers, further our studies, and lay a solid financial foundation before expanding our family.

But let's fast forward to that fateful day. It all started with a seemingly innocent craving for carrot cake. Now, I've never been much of a sweet tooth, thanks to my dental history (oh, the stories I could tell you about that!). But that day, all I could think about was carrot cake. It was consuming my mind, and I realized I needed to satisfy this craving ASAP.

So, I went and bought the cake on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. And boy, did I enjoy it! Fast forward to Saturday morning, and I found myself having the very last slice of that cake. Now, normally, a cake would last me much longer, but here I was, devouring it within two days. Something felt off.

That's when the signs started piling up. The cravings, the fatigue, the mood swings, and the strange warmth within my body... oh, and did I mention that my monthly period hadn't shown up for two months? It was as if my body was trying to tell me something, and I couldn't ignore it any longer.

We both agreed that it was time to start a family, and yes, we were now trying for a family, but did I know, it would happen so soon! I found out I was pregnant after taking a pregnancy test on that very eventful Sunday. My husband, unfortunately, was at work, so I snapped a picture of the positive test result and sent it to him. That's how he found out that he would soon be a dad!

And just like that, my life changed forever. I became responsible for more than just myself - I became a creator, a mother. It's a role that I'm still learning to embrace each day, as motherhood doesn't come with a manual. But you know what? I'm doing my best, and I believe that every mom out there is doing a great job too.

So, I'd love to hear your stories! Where were you when you found out you were going to be a parent? What happened, and who was the first person you told? Share your experiences in the comments below. Let's celebrate motherhood together because we're all in this beautiful chaos called parenting!

Also, I wanted to announce that starting next Monday, I'll be hosting a special space called #MotherhoodMondays, where we can all come together to support and uplift one another.

Stay blessed and I can't wait to hear your amazing stories! 🌸💖
